I have always been an athlete, competitively competing in softball, volleyball, even kickboxing. I have done the “gym rat” exercise routine, the “maybe I’ll get a run in today” exercise routine and just about every routine in between.
When I joined Gold’s Gym I was hesitant to get a personal trainer; I have friends who have had trainers in the past and always ended after only a few sessions, either because they felt they didn’t get their money’s worth, didn’t feel comfortable with their trainer, or just weren’t happy with the results.
I had never been one to use age as an excuse but at 55 years old, I was beginning to think that maybe my thin days were behind me. I had been slowly gaining weight for about 10 years and the more I tried to lose weight, the bigger I seemed to get.
