“When I joined Gold’s Gym I was hesitant to get a personal trainer…”
When I joined Gold’s Gym I was hesitant to get a personal trainer; I have friends who have had trainers in the past and always ended after only a few sessions, either because they felt they didn’t get their money’s worth, didn’t feel comfortable with their trainer, or just weren’t happy with the results.
Because of this I have always preferred to work out by myself or, at times, partner with a friend. Lately though I have, as my wife would put it, let myself go; and I have had a difficult time keeping myself motivated to stay with an exercise program. I’ve gained over twenty pounds, and I’ve gone up two pant sizes.
In order to get out of my funk I decided to take a chance, and signed up for a couple months of workout sessions with the lead trainer, Andy Rivadeneira.
I’d be lying if I said the first couple of sessions weren’t tough, but I don’t think I’ve ever got so much out an hour of working out; almost every exercise we did was new to me, and I always left the gym feeling great. Within the first month I lost most of my belly fat, and I was amazed at the level of muscle gains I’ve achieved; Because of this success I had no hesitation when it was time to decide whether-or-not to continue my sessions with Andy.
While I feel like I’ve done a good job staying disciplined these last few months, I know I couldn’t have gotten as far as I did without Andy’s help; I believe there are three quality’s he possess that attribute to the success that I, along with his other clients have achieved.
First, he is very personable; it’s effortless to keep a conversation, which is really nice when recovering between sets. Secondly, he is extremely knowledgeable; he’s taught me new exercises each and every session we had, enough to where I feel much more confident when going to the gym solo. Third, and probably most important, is that Andy does a great job keeping you on track; not only does he keep you accountable, but he is very good at making you want to keep improving.
Thanks Andy for helping me in not only meeting, but exceeding, my weight training goals.
